Zombie Hearts

Just a little info about these guys for those who were wondering. Made of: Polymer clay, or "Sculpey" Process: 1. Sculpt general shape out of clay. 2. Add loop for stringing on necklace. 3. Add embellishments (stitches, nails, screws, etc) 4. Detailed sculpting (create rotten flesh look, add scrapes and cuts, make 'bursted boils', etc) 5. Bake. 6. Add paint (patina, antiquing) to add depth/blood effect. 7. Bake again to set paint. (Not super necessary, but I like to do it as a quick-prep for the next step) 8. Coat with Sculpey Satin Glaze, or any other glaze/varnish that is SPECIFICALLY for polymer clay. 9. Marvel at the finished c

Hey hey! In case you were wondering, these awesome creations that you see are made of polymer clay. I sculpt the basic shape, bake it, and then carve it much like someone would carve wood. After it is sufficiently carved, I cover the piece in alcohol ink or acrylic paint and then rub it off the non-sunken-in parts, leaving a 2-color spiffy effect.
